1″ x 1″ x 6″ BLACK & WHITE EBONY TURNING BLANK
Black and white ebony (Diospyros embryopteris) is an exotic wood with color that will vary, usually uniformly black with light-colored bands, pale to medium brown zones, or with marked contrast between almost white and black wood. The wood has a fine texture with mostly straight grain. A rare find. The wood takes a high finish and turns well. Ebony is commonly used for small ornamental purposes, such as piano keys, musical instrument parts, carvings, and other small specialty items. The wood is exceptionally dense and strong.
Individual pieces may vary. Some contain the lighter “blonde” streaks where others may be closer to solid black.
